What Makes the MINI Monochrome Edition Special?
Like the name suggests, the Monochrome versions go for a clean, two-tone look. You can pick from Midnight Black or Nanuq White—no other colours—and both come with body-coloured roofs and mirrors. That usual MINI colour-contrasting roof? Not here. It’s all about a uniform, minimalist appearance.
MINI’s also tried to keep the prices tempting. The Cooper Electric Monochrome is priced from £26,905 OTR, while the Aceman version comes in at £28,905 OTR. Not bad, considering both offer a more affordable way into MINI’s electric line-up just ahead of the 2026 releases.

Shared Powertrain and Performance
Both versions are only available in their fully electric ‘E’ spec, each packing a 135 kW (184 hp) electric motor. They’re nippy enough around town, with 0–100 km/h times between 7.3 and 7.9 seconds, depending on which model you pick.
As for the batteries, the Cooper Electric Monochrome comes with a 40.7 kWh unit and can do up to 189 miles on a full charge (official WLTP rating), while the Aceman Monochrome increases that slightly to 192 miles, thanks to its 42.5 kWh battery. Both cars support 75 kW DC fast charging too, which is handy for longer trips when you need a quick boost.

Style That’s All in the Detail
It’s not just about paint colours. MINI’s given each model a distinct set of wheels—17″ U Spoke Grey alloys for the Cooper Electric, and 18″ Night Flash Spoke Grey wheels for the Aceman. All the usual shiny chrome bits have been swapped out for black trim, which adds to the low-key but classy look.
Jump inside and you’ll spot a few more special touches. There’s a multitone seat fabric with some neat white and yellow stitching, plus an anthracite headliner and a black cloth dash that’s finished with a Monochrome-specific dashboard strap. Even though these are the more “entry-level” electric MINIs, the cabins still feel nicely put together.

Packed with Premium Equipment
One of the nice things about the Monochrome Edition is that you don’t need to play around with extra options or upgrade bundles. MINI’s gone with a fixed spec—in a good way—so you get everything included right off the bat.
- A 24cm circular multimedia display
- MINI’s navigation system and a head-up display
- Wireless charging for your phone
- Heated seats up front
- MINI Experience Modes
- Adaptive cruise control
- Driver Assistance pack
- Parking assistant with a rear-view camera
Basically, MINI wants the Monochrome Edition to be a chilled ownership experience: no faffing with add-ons, and a bunch of useful features already built in. It also leans into a more refined, grown-up vibe compared to some of their more playful or brightly coloured models.
A Key Launch for MINI in the UK EV Market
Right now, it’s just the UK getting the Monochrome treatment—there haven’t been any announcements for international markets. Good news for Brits, though, as it means you’ll have first dibs on what’s quickly becoming one of the most searched-for special edition electric cars out there. In fact, as soon as the announcement dropped in late July 2025, searches for things like “mini monochrome edition,” “mini cooper electric monochrome UK,” and “aceman monochrome edition” all shot up.
With MINI planning to go all-electric soon, it makes sense they’re putting out more distinctive and value-friendly versions like this. Fits right in with the UK’s growing appetite for electric cars, not to mention the trend towards stripped-back design and custom styling.
