Chinese premium electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer Zeekr, a subsidiary of Geely, has announced its plans to launch in the UK by 2025. This move is part of Zeekr’s larger strategy to strengthen its presence across Europe, following successful market entries in Sweden, the Netherlands, and other key locations.

What is Zeekr?

Founded in 2021, Zeekr has quickly established itself as a prominent name in the EV sector. The brand focuses on offering high-performance, technology-driven electric vehicles with a luxury feel. In its home market of China, Zeekr has seen rapid growth, selling over 260,000 units to date and achieving a year-on-year sales increase of 112% in early 2024.

Current Models and Future Plans

Zeekr’s European lineup currently includes two key models:

  • Zeekr 001: A sleek shooting brake EV with an impressive range of up to 372 miles per charge. Its dual-motor version produces 544 horsepower, enabling a 0–60 mph time of just 3.8 seconds.

  • Zeekr X: A compact SUV comparable to the Audi Q3 and Volvo XC40. This model features a 69kWh battery with a range of around 280 miles for the single-motor variant. A dual-motor version offers quicker acceleration, achieving 0–62 mph in 3.8 seconds.

Looking forward, Zeekr plans to release seven new models globally by 2026, including four SUVs, two MPVs, and an estate car designed for European markets. Among these, the Zeekr 7X—a large SUV tailored for families—will arrive in 2025, targeting competitors like the Hyundai Santa Fe and Kia Sorento.

UK Launch Details

Although Zeekr has not yet launched in the UK, preparations are underway, with right-hand drive production reportedly in progress. The brand’s UK debut will likely include multiple models, offering British buyers new premium EV options in a fast-growing market.
